Do you enjoy listening to the birds singing in the garden or in the woods when you’re walking? Do you often wonder what they are? You need wonder no more! Sign up to this basic bird identification course and you will leave equipped to recognise common birds by sight and sound.
Join us for a morning with Dot Blakely, founder of the Castle Espie bird watching club, who will take you through the steps to recognise common birds.
We will meet in the Belfast Hills Partnership office in the morning where Dot will cover how to identify common birds from the songs and calls, as well as sight. After a quick tea/coffee break, we will head down to Colin Glen Forest Park to put our newly learnt skills to the test and identify some birds!
As part of this course is outdoors, please wear sensible outdoor clothing and footwear. If you have your own binoculars, feel free to bring them. We will provide tea, coffee and biscuits on the day.

Let me know if you would like to book on to this course – spaces are limited so book sooner rather than later!
