Join us for a day learning about the ecology of Smooth Newts in Ireland.
The course will be led by Seán Meehan, an ecological consultant based in Dublin. He is an active member of the Irish Wildlife Trust (IWT), and in 2013, coordinated the IWT Smooth Newt Survey of Ireland

The day will consist of an introductory morning in the office. We will learn about the identification, ecology, conservation and survey methodology of smooth newts. After lunch there will be an opportunity to put our skills into practice, with a field visit to a local pond.

Please dress appropriately for the weather: layers, waterproofs and sturdy boots or wellies are advisable.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided on the day. Bring a packed lunch.

Let me know if you want to book a place on the course – numbers are limited so reply sooner rather than later!

Suitable for aged 18 and over.
