This is a lovely film based on the play Mojo, Mickybo by Owen McCafferty. The movie director is Terry Loan, a local resident of the Belfast Hills.
MickyBo and Me is a story of boyhood innocence and friendship as Northern Ireland explodes into conflict in the early 1970s.
Starring two native Belfast boys, the action brings us into the world of this dynamic duo from different sides of the religious divide, who embark on a wild west friendship.
After being enthralled by the famous movie Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, the youngsters become friends and dedicated followers of their outlaw heroes. Cave Hill can be seen in the background of this picture.
Playing out their wild west fantasies however triggers an escalating chain of events that even their childlike imaginations could not have foretold.
Adrian Dunbar, Ciaran Hinds (from Limestone Road near Cave Hill) and Julie Walters star.
