A number of art works are present in the Belfast Hills, mostly mosaics and carved wooden benches in keeping with the natural settings. Through this project there we facilitated the opportunity to introduce more innovative and ambitious artwork that will help interpret elements of the Belfast Hills.
Three different art works were planned with designs by local communities through workshop sessions, and local artists. Art works may be permanent or temporary, but will help reflect different elements of the hills landscape, potentially tying in with other projects such as the River Awareness work.
Local schoolchildren in north Belfast forged a set of seats at Cave Hill, while the Hannahstown community made a quilt, young people in Carnmoney made a seat.
