Wildfires in the uplands impact upon the bird species that live there .  Staff and volunteers of the Belfast Hills Partnership have been undertaking surveys of skylarks and meadow pipits on Divis for the past 4 years, monitoring the effects of wildfires on these wonderful birds. This event will give members of the public the opportunity to learn more about upland bird species, the great site management work undertaken by the National Trust and hear the uplifting song of the skylark as they go off the beaten track.

This event will not following the path network, but will cut through rough grasses, upland heath and general uneven terrain – hiking boots and suitable outdoor clothing are therefore recommended.
